The Tracking tab on the Prompts page lists the prompts that AXP runs for your brand. Use it to add prompts, change how they run, and see their metrics for a date range.

Prerequisites

  • To add, edit, pause, resume, or delete prompts, you must have the prompt management permission. Refer to Permissions.
  • Your Brand Profile has your brand name, domains, and competitors. AXP uses these values to find your brand and its competitors in the responses.

Prompt limit

Your plan sets the number of prompts that you can track. The header of the Prompts page shows how many prompts you track now, for example 100/150 prompts tracking.
  • Only prompts on the Tracking tab count toward the limit. Suggested and paused prompts do not count.
  • When you reach the limit, you cannot add, accept, or resume prompts. The dashboard shows a message that you reached the prompt limit.
  • To track a new prompt at the limit, pause or delete a tracked prompt first. To increase your limit, contact support@thepublive.com.

Add a prompt

You can add a prompt in two ways. You can write it yourself, or you can accept a suggested prompt.
1

Open the form

On the Tracking tab, click Add prompt.
2

Write the prompt

Type the question as a buyer asks it. Read the wording carefully. You cannot change it after you save the prompt.
3

Set the topic

Select a topic, or type a new name to create a topic.
4

Set the platforms and location

Select the AI platforms that run the prompt. Then enter the location that the prompt targets, for example Delhi, India.
5

Save

Click Save. The prompt goes to the Tracking tab and counts toward your prompt limit.
The topic, platforms, and location are necessary. AXP does not collect data for a prompt until all three have a value. For the meaning of each field, refer to Prompt fields.
To track different wording, add it as a new prompt. A change to the wording makes the history that AXP collected for the old wording invalid.

Edit a prompt

You can change these fields of a prompt:
  • Topic
  • Platforms
  • Location
  • Intent
  • Note
You cannot change the prompt text.
  1. On the Tracking tab, find the prompt.
  2. In the Actions column, click the edit icon.
  3. Change the fields.
  4. Click Save.
A change applies to new responses only. Each past response keeps the platform and location that AXP used when it ran the prompt. An edit does not change the paused or active state of the prompt.

Pause and resume a prompt

Pause a prompt to stop new data collection. AXP keeps all the data that it collected before the pause.
  • To pause one prompt, click the pause icon in the Actions column. Then confirm.
  • To pause many prompts, select their rows. Then use the bulk Pause action.
  • A paused prompt moves to the Paused tab.
  • A run that started before you paused the prompt can still finish.
To start tracking again, go to the Paused tab. Click the resume icon (a play button) in the Actions column. To resume many prompts, select their rows. Then use the bulk resume action. A resumed prompt moves back to the Tracking tab and counts toward your prompt limit. The Paused tab shows each prompt with its topic, volume, platforms (Agents), Origin, and Date added. Visibility, Position, and Sentiment show ”–” because AXP does not collect data for a paused prompt. The Actions column on this tab has three icons: view, resume, and delete.

Delete a prompt

In the Actions column, click the delete icon. Then confirm. You can delete a prompt from the Tracking tab or the Paused tab.

Topics

Each prompt belongs to one topic. A topic contains many prompts.
  • The Prompt topics panel shows each topic and the number of prompts in it. The count does not include paused or deleted prompts.
  • Click a topic to show only its prompts. Click All topics to show all prompts.
  • To create a topic, click Add topic. Enter a name. Then click Save. A topic has only a name.
  • To rename a topic, open the menu next to the topic in the Prompt topics panel.
  • To delete a topic, open the menu next to the topic. Then select the delete option. AXP pauses the prompts in the topic and moves them to the Paused tab. AXP keeps the data that it collected for these prompts. Two topics cannot have the same name. The match ignores uppercase and lowercase.
  • When you add a prompt, you can also type a new topic name. AXP creates the topic. If a topic with the same name exists, AXP uses it.
The Suggested tab groups suggestions by the same topics. Brand Visibility uses the same topics for its breakdown.

Columns

Each metric shows the value for the selected date range and the change from the previous period. For more information, refer to the metrics and fields reference.

Filter, sort, and download

  • Search: Search the prompt text.
  • Date range: The default range is the last 30 days. Metrics compare the selected range with the previous period of the same length.
  • Filters: Click Filters to open the filter panel. The list updates when you change a filter. Click Clear All to clear all filters. The Paused tab has the same filters.
  • Sort: Click a column header to sort by that column. You can sort by each metric, by Location, and by Date added. When you sort by a metric, prompts that have no responses yet go to the end.
  • Columns: Click the settings icon to select the columns that the table shows. The first column and the Actions column stay in place when you scroll across a wide table.
  • Download: Click the download icon to download the table as a CSV, XLSX, or JSON file. The file contains the columns that the table shows, in the same order.
If metrics are temporarily not available, the table still shows your prompts. The metric columns are empty, and the dashboard tells you that metrics are not available.
