# Media Publishing

> Using Publive for media and digital publishing

Publive is purpose-built for digital media organizations. This guide covers patterns for high-volume news publishing.

## Multi-Format Content

Publive supports all major content formats used in digital publishing:

| Post Type   | Use Case                                         |
| ----------- | ------------------------------------------------ |
| `Article`   | Standard news articles, features, opinion pieces |
| `Video`     | Video stories with embedded players              |
| `Web Story` | Visual stories for mobile-first audiences        |
| `Gallery`   | Photo galleries and image collections            |
| `LiveBlog`  | Real-time event coverage with updates            |

Items within a Gallery post can be reordered directly from the dashboard.

## Live blog coverage

For breaking news and live events, use the LiveBlog post type:

1. Create a LiveBlog post via CMS API
2. Add updates using the Publive Dashboard
3. Fetch updates via CDS API: [`/post/<POST_ID>/live-blog-updates/`](/dxp/api-reference/content-delivery/live-blog-updates)

Live blog updates support pinned entries, author attribution, and rich HTML content.

## Category-based navigation

Structure your site navigation using the CDS [Navbar](/dxp/api-reference/content-delivery/navbar) and [Category](/dxp/api-reference/content-delivery/category-listing) APIs:

## Content delivery optimization

### Pagination strategy

For news sites with thousands of articles, use pagination efficiently:

/posts/?page=1&limit=20&sort_by=created_at&sort_order=desc
```

### Cache Tags

CDS responses include `Cache-Tags` for CDN integration:

```

Use these tags for targeted cache invalidation when content is updated.

## SEO

Posts include built-in SEO fields:

* `short_description` for meta descriptions
* `seo_keyphrase` for focus keywords
* `seo_score` for content optimization tracking

Categories, tags, and authors include OG and Twitter Card metadata for social sharing.
